Avexlox IV
Indications

Quick Search


Avelox IV is indicated for the treatment of adults (≥18 years of age) with the following infections, when caused by susceptible bacterial strains:

  • Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP), including CAP caused by multi-drug resistant Streptococcus pneumoniae*
  • Complicated skin and skin structure infections, including diabetic foot infections
  • Complicated intra-abdominal infections, including polymicrobial infections such as abscesses

*Multi-drug resistant S. pneumoniae includes isolates previously known as PRSP (penicillin-resistant S. pneumoniae), and are strains resistant to 2 or more of the following antibiotics: penicillin (MIC≥2 mg/mL), 2nd generation cephalosporins (e.g. cefuroxime),
macrolides, tetracyclines, and trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole.
